Frequently asked questions
Does it really cost me nothing?
Yes. The hospital that hires you pays Clearport's fee. Exam support, licensure, your visa, legal and government fees, and your flight are covered. We will never ask you for money.
Do I need to have passed the NCLEX before I apply?
No. Many of our nurses apply before taking it. Tell us where you are and we will help you prepare for and pass the exam.
Who will I work for?
The U.S. hospital, directly. Clearport is a recruiter and never employs you, so you receive the hospital's own pay and benefits package.
Which countries do you recruit from?
Anywhere in the world. Many of our nurses come from the Philippines, Brazil, Kenya and other countries in Africa and Latin America.
I am a Medical Laboratory Scientist. Can I apply?
Yes. We place Medical Laboratory Scientists as well as nurses. The application asks a few questions specific to lab work, such as ASCP certification.
What English test will I need?
Most nurses take IELTS or OET. You do not need a result to apply. Your recruiter will explain which test suits you and help you prepare.
How long does the whole process take?
It depends mostly on your exams and on visa processing times. After screening, your recruiter will give you a realistic timeline for your case.
What happens after I apply?
A recruiter reviews your application and contacts you by email or WhatsApp to talk about next steps. You can follow your progress and message your recruiter in your Clearport account.
